It was a sad day in our house, because Faith started First Grade this morning. A lot of parents are glad when school starts back, but I'm not. I miss my little girl when she isn't with me.Faith was a little scared about going to school this morning, but she did really good. We walked to school and I took her into her class and helped her find a desk. We met her new teacher (Mrs. Mosbey) and she seemed nice. She isn't as bubbly as her teacher last year, but she still seemed very nice. I guess we will see how well we really like her as the school year goes on, but I'm anticipating a good year.
When I picked Faith up from school I asked her how she liked the first day of school. She said, "I liked First Grade, it was FUN!". She later told me that she liked school, so I would say that it qualified as a good first day.
Lots of changes happened from Kindergarten to First Grade. The two big things were she was at school all day (7:45-2:50) and she got to eat lunch at school. They had cheeseburgers today, but she decided she wanted to take her lunch. She is afraid that she won't like the food that they have (probably not a bad thing....since I remember the food never being too good. I always went home for lunch when I was in elementary school, then I took my lunch the rest of my years in school). She has a new Tinkerbell lunch box and a princess thermos with a straw, so lunch is still is exciting!
