Yes, we were just camping a few days ago, but we were fortunate enough to get to go back and enough some beautiful weather. We had planned to leave on Thursday (when Faith got out of school), but the weather changed our plans a bit. They were calling for some strong storms, so we didn't want to take any chances and decided to just get up and leave on Friday morning. We were glad we made that choice, since there were tornado warnings out all Thursday afternoon/evening. We didn't really have any MAJOR storms at home, but they had a BIG storm go right over the campground (so we went have been in a camper in the middle of a storm---we would have probably been in the shower house though, which would not have been fun!).
With such beautiful weather, the campground was a little bit busier than we had hoped for, but that was okay. We were able to get the site that we wanted, site 201! Someone had made reservations and requested that site already, but since you cannot reserve a specific site this time of year we were able to get the site since we were there first. I kind of felt guilty for taking it from someone else, but that is just how it works sometimes I guess.
Friday we got there around 10:00 and we set up camp and then started our fun. We had a weekend of bike riding, playing at the playground, fishing, fishing, and more fishing.
**Behind our campsite there was a big hill that went down to some rocks below, kind of like a rock cliff. The kids called it their mountain and they were always asking if they could go mountain climbing. It made me a little nervous, but they climbed it just fine. They both got a couple of scrapes and bruises, but nothing too major.**
The kids were able to catch a ton of fish this weekend. They were having such good luck that they kept wanting to go down to the lake to fish. They were using minnows to fish with this time, instead of their usual worms. They caught so many fish that Karl was always taking a fish off of somebodys pole. Faith and Bryce each caught the biggest fish they had ever caught. Faith caught a fish that was probably about 7 inches long and Bryce caught one that was probably about 12 inches long. They were both types of Bass. They were both very excited!!
On Monday it ended up raining on us, but not too bad. We had been fishing and about 11:00 we decided to head back to our campsite to pack up. We had plan to pack up some stuff and then go for a bike ride, but that didn't happen. As soon as we left the lake and got in the woods on the trail to the campsite it started raining. By the time we made it up the hill, it was raining a steady little rain. So...we packed up everything in the rain and had to call it a day, with no bike ride. The kids were just happy they got their fishing in though.
This was probably our last camping trip of the year, so we will all have camping fever here in a couple of months. I guess that we will just hope for an early Spring with good camping weather by March!

The Big Fish Pictures:
Faith wasn't sure about her BIG fish. She touched every other fish she caught, but she wasn't sure she even wanted near her big fish. She eventually did touch it before we let it go.
Bryce was able to reel in his own fish, eventhough it was really big for his little pole. He was so excited when he caught his fish. He had to check it all out before we let it go.
The Many Faces of Cole:
Cole Talking.
Cole being serious.
Cole Yawning.
Cole liked camping too. He really liked to just lay in his stroller (when he wasn't too tired) and just look up at the trees.
