Faith has a problem with socks....too short, too tall, the toe isn't right!! Yes, she got this sock problem from her Father (I've heard stories from his Mom about her just throwing his socks away---for the record, I've never actually thrown any away yet ). Socks are a nightmare when it comes to getting ready for school. This morning was one of those mornings and it was as bad as it has been for a while. Faith wanted to wear her boots to school, fine. I pulled out a pair of tall socks. No, first pair didn't work. I, of course, had come equiped with a second pair, just because you never know and chances are the first pair won't work. The second pair, they didn't work either. Fine, lets just try some short socks. No....Faith says short socks won't work with boots, she says she will just go with no socks. I said you have to wear socks and then the meltdown countinued. Mind you---school is going to be starting soon and we still have no socks or shoes on! I decided she had wore tall socks yesterday and I had washed those so surlely those would work, but NO--not working today (because they just don't feel right). Finally when I told her to put a pair of socks on and get her boots on or I was putting her tennis shoes on her myself, she finally just stuck some short socks on (and no, she was not happy about it at all and she made it quite clear) and put her boots on. Finally everyone was in the van and we were off to school with 4 minutes to spare. Thankfully we live close to school. I got everyone unloaded quickly and helped her into school and got everything into her locker and out of her backpack. Just as she stepped away from her locker the bell rang. So...I gave her a quick kiss and told her to hurry to her seat. I'm hoping she had an okay day, because the day sure didn't start too good. I don't like to start her school day like that, but what was I to do, send her in flip flops when it was 32 degrees outside.
Oh...and in the rush and nonsense this morning, we forgot her lunchbox. There was obviously no extra time to run back for that. So, I got her to class and came back home for that and then went back to school to drop off her lunch.
