A Doubleheader

Faith had a doubleheader tonight. Her first game started at 5:00 and the second game started at 6:30. They literally had about a 2 minute break in between games.

The first game they came from behind and won 9-8.
They all played really well. Faith played third base for the whole game. The only problem that she had in this game was that she was trying to stop the ball with her hand instead of using her glove. We finally got her to use her glove and it worked a lot better for her.

Faith was out on the field chanting, "Hey batter, batter" along with the other girls. A couple of times she even started it herself. It was very out of character for her, but I'm glad that she was having fun. He shocked Karl and I the first time we could hear her voice over the other girls'.

The second game was another good game. All the girls were getting tired and hungry by the end of this game though. They ended up winning this game 4-3. They were the home team and were ahead in the 6th inning, so they didn't have to bat in the 6th inning (they only play 6 innings).

This picture isn't the best, but you can tell how tired she is. Of course, come to find out, she had to potty really bad too.

I lost count on how many hits she got tonight, because she batted a lot. She struck out a couple of times and got out at first once. She did good though.

So..for the season we are now 3 and 2.

Side note: I'm all for the teams chanting silly things when someone is batting. However, tonight the orange team was saying, "Batter gettin nervous". Then our team started saying it when they were on the field. Us parents put a stop to our team doing it. We felt that is was kind of rude. If the girls were older, fine. 7 and 8 year old girls do not need to be saying things that could hurt someones feelings. It just was not necessary! This age is supposed to be fun and that is what we are making it.
